Giovanni has accrued quite the following for his 94-year-old grandmother Doris by posting videos of her to TikTok, where she goes by “Sassy.”
Doris has accumulated over 669,200 followers since Gio began posting videos of her going about her life, being a diva, buying lemonade from two little girls’ stand and refusing to eat veggies, among other things.
In one clip that went especially viral, racking up over 13 million views since July 22, Doris talks about how she made a fool out of her husband’s girlfriend.
“When you were young you found out your husband had a girlfriend, so you went and found out who she was, made friendly-friendly with her, and then what happened?” prompts Gio in the video.
Doris then launches into the story of how she took the girlfriend out drinking and got her trashed while hardly imbibing herself.
“And I said, ‘Well, we better go eat so we can go home,’ and she was so drunk her face went right down in her food and that’s where it stayed. I called [my husband] and told [him], ‘Come and get your lady friend, her face is in the food,’” says Doris.
“So you got her so drunk she passed out in her food and then you called him?” Gio confirms. “You’re what they call savage.”
“I know, and I love that,” says Doris.
In another video, Gio calls his grandfather a “handsome but womanizing bastard,” who fell in love with his grandmother and had his mother. “My mom kinda went down the same road,” he goes on, also calling his father a “handsome, womanizing bastard.”
While TikTok has a reputation for being popular among younger social-media users, Doris isn’t the only grandmother to find popularity on the platform: TikTok has quite a few boomer stars.
